Mersal movie breaks records in US

It’s almost looks like the controversy around Vijay’s latest release Mersal has finally died down, giving the producers some time to celebrate the success of the movie. Irrespective of the various controversies, Mersal’s stint at the box office has been incredibly strong with the film holding good in its second week. The film has not only ruled the screens in the state, it is also charming the cash box abroad becoming the latest film to join the $1.5 million club in the United States and which is already crossed the over all earnings of Vijay’s last super hit movie Theri. According to a report in the international business times, Mersal is the fourth movie to cross the $1.5 million mark and the eleventh film to cross the $1 million mark. Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali still holds the top position at the US office.
