ഖത്തറിന്റെ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ആദ്യമായി റേഡിയോ സുനോ ഇതാ ശ്രോതാക്കൾക്കായി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നു ഒരു മ്യൂസിക്കൽ റിയാലിറ്റി ഷോ ” ഗോൾഡൻ മൈക്ക് ”. വിജയിക്ക് ലഭിക്കുന്നത് സംഗീത സംവിധായകൻ ഷാൻ റഹ്മാന്റെ മലയാള ചിത്രത്തിൽ പാടാനുള്ള ഒരവസരമാണ്.
ആദ്യ ഓഡിഷൻ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ 60 പേരാണ് പങ്കെടുത്തത്. അതിൽ നിന്നും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത 23 ഗായകർ ഇനി ഏറ്റുമുട്ടാൻ പോകുന്നത് ഒരു സെമി ഫൈനലായിരിക്കും.
